Desktop operations platform
Accounting automation
A local-first Windows application for importing dispatch data, calculating driver statements, reviewing deductions and distributing finished PDF or XLSX files.

The problem
The company relied on spreadsheets, manual calculations, document creation and one-by-one email distribution for recurring driver settlements. Imports also had to cope with inconsistent source workbooks without silently changing pay rules.
Scope and architecture
My responsibilities
- Workflow definition and interface implementation
- Go API, SQLite schema and calculation rules
- Spreadsheet imports plus PDF and XLSX output
- Windows packaging, installer and update pipeline
System
- Vue 3 interface embedded with Wails and WebView2
- Go application services and HTTP-compatible handlers
- SQLite stored outside the application install directory
- GitHub Actions, NSIS and digest-verified self-updates
Key decisions
- 01
Preview every bulk change before it is applied.
Driver, deduction and statement files produce a stored preview first. Users confirm additions, matches and warnings before a transaction changes the local database.
- 02
Keep compensation rules explicit and historical.
Effective-dated pay profiles are configured manually and statement calculations are stored as snapshots, so later profile changes do not rewrite earlier settlements.
- 03
Make a business-critical tool work without a server.
The interface, Go runtime and SQLite database run entirely on the user’s Windows PC. Per-user installation and verified updates avoid administrator-dependent maintenance.
What I built
I built a Vue 3 interface and Go application with SQLite, then packaged it as a native Wails and WebView2 Windows app. It previews CSV and XLSX imports before applying changes, keeps effective-dated pay profiles, snapshots every calculation, exports PDF or XLSX statements and sends each recipient a separate email. A private GitHub Actions pipeline produces a per-user NSIS installer and digest-verified self-updates without requiring administrator access.

Result
A manual weekly settlement process turned into one reviewable desktop workflow
- Preview-and-confirm imports instead of destructive spreadsheet updates
- Consistent PDF and XLSX statements with calculation history
- Per-recipient email delivery and no-admin Windows updates
